Today’s economic conditions require a change in perspective. An innovative approach is needed which integrates systems thinking and looks beyond the linear ‘take, make, dispose’ model.

As the first Global Pioneer University for the Circular Economy by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the University of Bradford have designed the circular economy MBA to give the next generation of leaders a first-mover advantage, by tackling subjects including regenerative product design, new business models, reverse logistics and enabling communication technologies.

This webinar, hosted by Peter Hopkinson who set up the MBA, explores the Circular Economy, the MBA itself and presents methods for embedding the key principles into teaching and learning at whatever scale. We will also hear from some MBA students on their experiences of the course and views on the circular economy model.

Why should I attend?

In this webinar you will find out:

• Learn more about the key principles of the Circular economy and the work of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Launch of the QMU CPD Scheme

At QMU, our aim is to encourage, acknowledge and reward the engagement of the full range of staff who support our students’ learning experiences.  So whether a staff member is a tutor, a PhD student who teaches, a member of academic staff involved in learning and teaching, a researcher who teaches or supervises research students, a member of professional service who supports student learning, or a senior staff member involved in academic leadership, our CPD Scheme offers them a chance to reflect on their engagement with learning and teaching and, if they wish, to achieve recognition for their work.

Our colleagues have diverse interests, expertise and teaching contexts, and we want to provide a range of opportunities for ongoing professional development, both formal and informal. Our CPD Scheme therefore makes available both credit-bearing, formal programme routes as well as less formal, experiential opportunities to develop professionally and have that recognised.

A key element in demonstrating professional expertise is compliance with the UK Professional Standards Framework. Queen Margaret University’s CPD Scheme is closely aligned with this Framework and enables staff to receive Higher Education Academy recognition of their professional standing. QMU staff can apply for recognition via a CPD route or a programme route.

Because the HEA has accredited the whole QMU CPD Scheme, QMU’s own Recognition Panel can assess and make recognition decisions on individuals’ submissions. The names of successful candidates are then submitted to the HEA for certification as either Associate Fellows, Fellows or Senior Fellows.
