CAP activity summary

We are gearing up for the new academic year, after a busy summer that included four weeks of academic staff development...
with King Saud University faculty. Our BlackBoard team are pulling out all the stops to ensure a smooth transition to the new Virtual Learning Environment, 'The Hub'. Feedback from the workshops has been extremely positive, with many colleagues looking forward to making use of all the advanced multimedia features of the Hub. There will of course also be our programme for research staff and PhD students. Our Effective Learning Service will once again be offering a pre-sessional programme for non-native speakers of English to help them make an effective start to their studies. We're preparing for the 'Short Course' in learning and teaching and then of course the start of a new cohort on the PG Cert Professional and Higher Education. The TSIP project is proving a huge success, follow them. And while you are at it, you CAP is on twitter too, with regular tweet streams on a variety of topics in learning and teaching, locally, nationally and internationally.

  1. LFIP PGTSE
Yet another acronym... This one means Learning from International Practice in the Postgraduate Taught Student Experience. It's a national project - see http://www.enhancementthemes.ac.uk/sheec/learning-from-international-practice. And if you have an example of a PG programme which you think helps PGT students understand what is required at M level, let me know. We are looking for case examples. Roni
