QMU invites staff and students to take part in Mindfulness and Contemplation seminars and drop-in practice sessions.
The ‘Introduction to Mindfulness and Contemplation’ can help you:

·         improve your ability to manage stress, tension and anxiety;

·         handle thoughts, moods and emotions more skilfully;

·         achieve a greater insight into your emotions;

·         improve attention and concentration and

·         gain more self-acceptance and improve relationship with others.

Introductory Seminar:

15 November, 12:15-13:15 Room 0050.

This seminar will provide background information and a rationale for the benefits of mindfulness and contemplation practices in general and in Higher Education.

Drop-in practice sessions:
Tuesdays until 30 October room 3164, 12:15-13:15

Tuesdays from 6 November to 18 December room 2175, 12:15-13:15

These sessions are practical mindfulness meditation sessions led by an expert. You will be guided through the practice and there will be an opportunity to discuss your experience afterwards.

Both events are run by Mindfully Being (http://www.mindfullybeing.co.uk/) and funded by QMU through the Retention & Contemplation project, run by Dr Iddo Oberski, Senior Lecturer Learning & Teaching, Centre for Academic Practice.
